fun with friends

We are relishing Ken's weekends off, trying to enjoy as much time as possible with our friends on these beautiful sunny days.  This is the first time we've lived somewhere where warm weather doesn't mean uncomfortable humidity so it has been a treat to spend so much time outside.

I wish I could have gotten a better picture of Emme and Deals looking like such big girls hanging out at the tiki bar.  Oh well, that's the perfect excuse for more summer get-togethers: cute pictures!

Their third partner in troublemaking cuteness, Liam, has a wading pool and new water play station to entertain his buddies.

We've been trying to explore different walking trails with Deals.  She's a great little hiker, but gets easily sidetracked by pointing out various creatures.  She had us doubled over in laughter with her declarations of "cute slug- kiss, kiss!" to every slimy mollusk she met on our last walk.  Here she is ready to bolt and, presumably, bestow her (thankfully, air) kisses to new friends along the way:
