| "Baby Spider-Man" (as named by big sis) |
Last week, we went with my Mom and Deals to my 20 week ultrasound where we watched the acrobatics (and eventual settling in for nap time) of our healthy baby BOY! We found out the baby's sex almost immediately, and my Mom described it perfectly when she said that his big sister was "joyous." We all got multiple kisses, cuddles, hugs, and enjoyed her commentary of, "There's my baby brother's hand" and "there's my baby brother's head!" Having a child old enough to understand what is going on has really added to the excitement of the pregnancy. We were all so thrilled to finally have a pronoun to use, which somehow makes the baby feel like a real person that will be arriving in December, and, of course, we loved hearing how healthy he looks. It was an incredible experience to share with my Mom since it's one thing to look at the grainy ultrasound photos like the image above to being able to watch the baby moving around and hearing about what we were seeing together.
That was the highlight of an incredible visit with my Mom who played, took walks with, read to, colored with, and had non-stop fun with Deals while we worked on packing for our big move.

And her baby-sitting didn't end at night- she also took care of Deals then so that we could take nightly walks together, see two movies, and have a romantic night out for our 12-year-anniversary. It was hard on all of us when she left, and we can't wait to see her again at Christmas when everyone's much-anticipated present arrives.
