Shortly after we moved to Portland a friend introduced us to a tranquil garden on a bluff overlooking stunning views of the Willamette River and Mount Hood. The once private grounds were donated to the Episcopal diocese on the condition that they keep it open to the public. I think it's one of the city's best kept secrets - we've met people that have lived here over a decade that didn't know of it's existence, and we rarely see anyone else wandering the paths while we're there.
With endless rocky staircases, two lily ponds that attract salamanders, and plenty of wide areas for running it's the perfect spot for toddler exploration. Plus, Deals had the chance to show off her new leaf-identification skills ("look- a fern!") thanks to outdoor scavenger hunts with Daddy this summer.
