through a child's eyes

One of my favorite things about the visit with my Mom is how much we enjoyed Deals's enthusiasm for simple things from devising a stacking game with Mimi's coasters to reminding us to go outside on the balcony after dinner to listen to the birds.  When we arrived at the airport early Deals led us on a mushroom-hunting expedition where she pointed out all of the different sizes of fungi we encountered.

During our trip, we went to two parks that were beautiful country estates donated to the city.  One had a dog park, playground, picnic shelter, and an ultimate frisbee court while the other had a science museum, nature trails, and animal farm.  While Deals and Mimi checked out the Snoopy in Space exhibit inside the museum I had time to wander around the sculpture garden outside.  What a treat to have some fun photographing on my own, inspired to stop and enjoy the wonder of my surroundings just like my sweet daughter does on a daily basis.
